Knockhill are delighted to announce that Frank Biela, one of the greatest touring car and more recently sports car drivers of all time, will be the guest of honour at the David Leslie Super Touring Car Festival on Saturday 10th / 11th September. Frank and Audi Sport UK stunned the Autotrader British Touring Car Championship in 1996 with a truly dominant season in their ground breaking 4 wheel Audi A4 quattro. Frank had already had an illustrious career by then but went on to win the Le Mans 24 Hours five times, the Sebring 12 Hours in America four times as well as countless prestigious sports-prototype races across the world. He won the American Le Mans Series twice.
Knockhill Director of Events said, “We are truly honoured that such a legend of British and World touring and sports car racing will be with us for the David Leslie Super Touring Championship event.

“Frank is flying in from Europe to be with us and will be meeting the fans, doing autograph sessions, Q&As as well as hopefully a demo in an Audi A4 quattro SuperTourer from his all-conquering era”.
Gray continues, “We are thrilled that funding from Event Scotland and Fife Council has allowed this prestigious event to be televised and we are expecting a display of race and show Super Tourers and BTCC cars, the likes of which has not been seen since their appearance here over 17 years ago when we had record crowds attending”.

The event will feature two Super Touring Car races, one on Saturday 10th and one on Sunday 11th September, both vying for the prestigious David Leslie Trophy. Also appearing is the first ever visit of the Junior Touring Car Championship, Irish Legends, full supporting SMRC programme with the Scottish Formula Fords also racing for their own David Leslie Trophy.
