TEENAGER DEXTER PATTERSON has become Scotland’s first Karting World Champion, achieving something fellow Scots racers David Coulthard, Dario Franchitti, Allan McNish and Paul di Resta never achieved, writes Jim McGill.
Patterson — the 14-year-old from Bothwell, and piloting his 80mph 125cc kart — dominated the CIK-FIA World Junior Championship at Lincoln, to win the event which saw 93 drivers from 30 countries compete for the biggest trophy in world karting.
