Scotland’s annual Ford gathering – Scottish Ford Live in association with Elite Automotive Scotland & AET Motorsport and the Central & East and North East of Scotland RSOC Regional Groups – returns to Knockhill this weekend and we’re delighted to say that the show has gone to an another level for 2018. We’ll have upwards of 400 Ford models on display, with most of them competing in a number of Show ‘n’ Shine competitions with trophies up for grabs and goodies on offer thanks to Autosmart Fife.
Aside from our standard Hot Hatch Trackday action on the twists and dips of Knockhill, there will be a number of Ford Only sessions where you’ll see some iconic Ford machinery being put through their paces by their owners – cue the Escort and Cosworth pics.
This event, attracts a large audience – indeed it is now regarded as the 3rd biggest Ford type festival in the UK – and with that in mind we’ve added it to our “Super Six’ family events for 2018. So, this weekend we’ve drafted in additional entertainment for families including; balloon modelling, simulator ride, bouncy castles, magic shows, sim racing, No Limits Cycle Show and we’ll have life-size cartoon characters to meet. So, if the wife and kids get bored after looking at the 20th MKII Escort in a row (because they don’t quite get your fascination with them) they can head off and enjoy some of the other activities available on the day.
As well as all the fun activities, there will be a host of special cars on show. Colin McRae’s MKII Escort, a tribute to the Ford RS500, and Tom Blackwood is bringing a transporter load of toys (quote). His collection is amazing and there will no-doubt be some demonstration runs and parades with them. M-Sport will also be here with the R-Spec Transit and the 2018 Tour de Corse winning Ford Fiesta WRC used by Sebastien Ogier & Julien Ingrassia will be on-site. The M-Sport trade stand will provide the latest Ford World Rally Team clothing & merchandise.
Action from 2017:
There will be a number of iconic BTCC cars on show including the Redstone Focus of Ali McMillan. Will Robson’s rapid Ford Focus will be here that competed at last weekend’s SMRC Trophy Race as part of our first-ever TCR UK event. The WR Tuning stand will feature a number of cars and they’ll join the likes of the Northumberland RSOC, CM Motorsport, The Junior 1000 Series and many others on display.
