Aiden Moffat heads into his 6th full time BTCC programme in 2019 knowing that consistency will be key for his Championship challenge this year. This will be the 8th year the you Scottish driver has competed in the UK’s premier tin-top racing series which has already seen him amass 3 outright race wins and a further 3 podium finishes during his time.
“If you look at last year, after the first 3 or 4 rounds we were sitting 6th in the Championship. And then we get to the middle point in the season and we tend to struggle – with the car not being well suited to a number of circuits we visit in that time. So, there is definitely room for improvement and that’s the aim this year.”
It’s also a big year for the Laser Tools Racing squad who’ve taken over complete control of the car for 2019. Ciceley Motorsport used to prep the car before BTCC race meets, however, this year the car will be based in Scotland from the team’s new Livingston base.
“I’m very excited by this year, it’s the most I’ve ever been up for a BTCC season and the hunger to perform is certainly there. And, given the work we’ve completed over the winter, I’m confident that we’ll have a strong package this season.”
Aiden will return to Knockhill over the weekend of 14/15 September for his home round, alongside fellow Scot, Rory Butcher. Tickets for the event are available online now – subject to advanced booking discounts.
