This weekend at Knockhill the action switches back to 2-wheels as we welcome Endurance Racing and machinery from the 70s, 80s and 90s back to the track as part of our BikeFest featuring Rewind Festival event on Sunday 28th July.
It’s a change from the norm for many of the KMSC riders who regularly compete in short sprint races of up to 12 laps. Our 50 and 100 lap endurance races will add in an extra bit of strategy to the races as teams of two fight for supremacy on track.
The Knockhill 50 – a 50 lap endurance race will see teams of two riders join forces aboard an array of bikes (Lightweight, Pre-Injection 600 or CB500) to outperform and out-think their opponents around the twists and dips of the Knockhill track.
And, perhaps the biggest news of the weekend. We will see Stuart Easton return to racing action at Knockhill for the first time in a number of years. The former British Supersport Champion and 20-time British Superbike podium scorer teams up with young Oliver Barr for a tilt at the Knockhill 50. It’s great to see Stuart back aboard a bike at Knockhill and we’re sure he’ll have lost none of the skill and speed that prompted some of the UK’s biggest teams to sign him up over a 12 year career that included World Supersport and Superbike rides.
Likewise, the Knockhill 100 – 100 laps of Knockhill’s 1.27 miles of twists, dips and blind crests will provide action aplenty as Superbike, Clubman and Formula 600 riders try to form their own versions of Batman and Robin – dynamic duos. The pairing to watch out for is the Carnegie Fuels backed duo of Bruce Birnie and William Monie – two very fast and experienced riders in their own right – however, can they work well as a team? Time will tell. Sam Munro and Rory Skinner won the 2018 event in on 600cc machinery, can they challenge for another out-right race win this year aboard their Supersport spec machines with both riders regularly nipping the 49/50 second bracket on times around Knockhill at the recent BSB event.
Elsewhere, there are a few pairings to keep an eye on including the Clubman pairing of Charile Bunyan and Chris Liddell, Stuart Hamilton and Ashely Robson should make a strong pairing whilst William Mason and William Bergin will go for glory aboard their Kawasski ZX10R machine.
There’s also additional racing content on the day from the highly entertaining CB500s. This class has been transformed in recent years and now boasts over subscribed grids at most of the KMSC meetings. The class also provides some terrific entertainment on track with battles up and down the order.
Rewind Festival
Off track we’ll be hosting our Classic Rewind festival featuring bikes from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Expect to see some iconic machinery on show from the likes of Suzuki, Ducati, Yamaha and some names from yesteryear including Harris and Laverda. With three Rewind track sessions set aside for these bikes, a number of owner’s will be venturing out on track with their machinery – filling the hills around Knockhill with the sounds and smells of years gone by. There’s still plenty of time to enter either the static or Rewind track sessions.

KMSC Club President Niall Mackenzie will also be back and he’ll be bringing some of his own personal classics for the display and no doubt you’ll see him on track giving his old machines the beans. There will be prizes and awards up for grabs for the best in show categories and it’s a great day out just to celebrate all things on 2-wheels.
Trackday Sessions
For all novice/intermediate bike trackday riders! Fancy being part of our BikeFest event? Why not sign up for one of our 30 tracktime spaces and take your own bike out on track within the event. You’ll enjoy three 15-minute sessions throughout the day where you’ll be able to show off your skills to a whole host of 2-wheel fans. Outwith the time you spend on track, take some time to mingle in the classic show bike area and watch some of the action on track. Who knows, you might even pick up some racing line tips from some of Scotland’s fastest bike racers. Book online via our Trackdays website for £90pp.
There will also be some parade laps and Minimoto racing around the Knockhill tri-oval at lunchtime. It’s a nice and relaxed event with content on and off track. If you are into 2-wheels, then come along to Knockhill this Sunday and enjoy a trip down memory lane whilst seeing some of the latest 2-wheel machines flat out racing on the Knockhill track.
