For eleven years running the Grant Construction Rally Stages at Knockhill has been the traditional season-opener event to the new year. This year, the Grant Stages will once again herald the start of the new motorsports season at Knockhill when the event takes place on Sunday 23rd February.
This year’s Grant Stages Rally sees a quality line-up of drivers, with double defending Champions John Marshall and Scott Crawford looking to take their third consecutive win in as many years. Interestingly, this year will see the pair tackle the Knockhill stages in their new Fiesta R5 – instead of the trusty Subaru which took them to two previous wins at Knockhill.
Also out in his R5, is multiple car racing Champion Alan Kirkcadly (seeded 2nd on the entry list). Other well-known names
include Donnie MacDonald, behind the wheel of his Culloden Car Sales backed Mitsubishi Evo 9 (3rd Seed). Scott MacBeth, Robert Marshall, Kyle Adam and Des Campbell round out the top eight seeds on the entry list.
The 35-mile, single-venue Rally event will kick off at approximately 8.30am, concluding around approximately 4pm. The competitors will compete in eight individual stages – with the fastest pairing to complete the entire 8-stages combined crowned the eventual winners. There’s always lots of action on and around the track during our single-venue Rally events. With short intervals between each car launching into action and quick changeovers on track of all the proposed stage layouts, there’s always something going on – whether that’s on stage, on track or even in the paddock during the service intervals.
If you fancy a day of entertainment, watching some mighty impressive machinery, slip, slide and power their way around the Knockhill track and hill-side rally stages, then tickets can be booked online now. Alternatively, tickets will be available on the day, throughout the event.
