We are sorry to announce that our Bennetts British Superbike Championship event set to take place on Saturday 10th
and Sunday 11th July will be limited to just 1000 spectators per day.
We had held off in the hope of convincing both the Scottish Government and Fife Council that we could deliver an event with a higher capacity. Unfortunately, we received the news today that 1000 per day would be the limit and that there is no further avenues to explore to increase this number.
We are deeply disappointed that the BSB event will be subject to these restrictions, but understand the principles behind the decision. Here’s Knockhill Managing Director Jillian Shedden with more info:
What this means for ticket holders is as follows.
Priority will be given to season pass holders. If you have a season pass (2-Wheel or Gold) you will have received a letter with instructions on how to register for the event. We need all season pass holders to tell us if they intend to attend by midday on the 25th June, any overflow of allocation will then revert to BSB ticket holders in the order of purchase date. With such a limited number, we have also been forced to cancel camping on site as well and will only be able to host day visitors. The paddock and centre of the circuit will also be sealed – whilst spectators will remain in a separate bubble around the outside of the track.
We expect to be contacting BSB ticket holders w/c 28th June with options;
- A very limited number of ticket holders will be invited to register for the event to top up season pass numbers to the 1000 capacity limit. Invitations will be made in order of purchase date.
- For those that do not get invited or who do not wish to attend you will receive an email with options to:
- Roll over your ticket to 2022 (Provisional date 9/10 July 2022)
- Request a credit
- Request a full refund
As you can imagine the demand on our phone lines is exceeding the capacity we have to answer all your calls. Please don’t call us, wait on the email where you will be able to administer your request online and we will action this as promptly as possible.
We apologise for any inconvenience this announcement causes. We have pursued all avenues to the highest levels to allow us to host a bigger crowd, it just wasn’t to be for 2021.
