Young Scots racer and Knockhill Instructor, Ronan Pearson looks ahead to what will be the biggest year of his racing career so far in 2022. Not only will the talented 20 year old be making a return to the extremely competitive Quaife Mini Challenge grid for this season, but he’ll also be joining leading BTCC race outfit Excelr8 Motorsport.
As well as driving the Excelr8 branded JCW throughout 2022, Ronan has also signed on the dotted line to be part of the team’s driver development programme.
“I’ve always known what I wanted and I’ve been pretty head-strong in that sense over the years. But towards the end of last season, l quickly realised that the time was now and I had to make the jump.
“I believe that Excelr8 Motorsport is the best place to be on the Mini Challenge grid and of course the direct link up with the Touring Car side of it creates a terrific platform moving forward.
“I’m confident heading into the new season and have a real spring in my step. We already have a couple of good days testing under our belts and I’m keen to get going,” concluded Ronan.
Ronan and his Excelr8 teammates will be at Knockhill over the weekend of 30/31 July as the BTCC circus rolls in for another spectacular weekend of racing around the twists and dips of Knockhill. Tickets for the event, supported by Lokring UK can be booked online – with VIP, Camping and Weekend options all available via out events website.
