Dexter, a friend of the KMSC was last seen handing out the annual awards last February to the club championships.

Dexter said, “I don’t have a lot of track experience at Knockhill, so this is perfect for me to just enjoy driving the Legend car and gain track time ahead of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship when I will get back behind the wheel of my Team-Hard Cupra“.

The weekend starts differently for the racers with the traditional Anti Clockwise Saturday being moved to Sunday with the first day being Clockwise,  which also brings several drivers and teams from the Elite Cup Legends who will race at Knockhill during the BTCC event on the 12-13^th August More Event Info

It will be the first time that TCR UK has competed
at the venue since its initial visit back in 2018.

Chris Smiley, defending TCR UK Champion, will be
hoping that his Knockhill experience will set him a few steps above the rest as
the Northen Irish racer started his car racing career on this very circuit and
hopes to show the speed, he and his Honda Civic possess around our
International Circuit.

The young centre back is only one of three players in the team that have managed to secure funding for the season. As well as the commercial benefits of the Scottish Legends Cars name being seen pitch-side at every game this season, owner and operator of Scottish Legends Cars at Knockhill, Andrew Donald will also enjoy some additional member benefits at the Kirkcaldy Club.

“It’s a great initiative, not only will the funding help Matthew with his kit costs for the season, it will also showcase the Scottish Legends Cars name to a wider audience. I’m sure other players will benefit from this unique scheme as the season progresses. I’m just glad to have young Matthew on my side. Player of the year last year for his age group and someone who likes to tackle bigger players.

“However, his dream car is somewhat of a contentious point – a Lamborghini Hurricane; I’m convinced I’ll be able to persuade him to swap that to a Legend at some point,” said Andrew.

Best of luck to Matthew for the season and we’ll be keeping tabs on his career as he aims to make it to professional level and play for his favourite team, Edinburgh Rugby.

With 25-points for a win and three races still to come, it’s still mathematically possible for Ray to lose the title should he have a disastrous weekend from start to finish. However with Ray just requiring a handful of points from the opening race of the weekend, he’ll likely adopt a cautious outlook to ensure the title comes for the Ray household for the first time.

Ray, who has bagged seven race wins so far this season will be hoping to enjoy the final round of the season at his home track in front of friends and family. And, if the Yamaha man plays his cards right, could be celebrating Championship success on Saturday evening.

Touchingly there will also be numerous tributes to the late Chrissy Rouse throughout the Brands Hatch finale, with muted podium celebrations, a 69 second silence and #69 stickers adorning the race bikes in his memory.

As for 2023, we’ve already seen the FHO Racing team announce their line up with long-term rider Peter Hickman signing on for another year. And, he’ll be joined by Aussie, former BSB Champion, Josh Brookes. With Brookes undoubtedly making a return to the roads in 2023 alongside the multi-TT race winning team.

More rider and team announcements will follow on after the final races of the season with the likes of Bridewell, Skinner, Sykes and Ray all potentially on the move. However, regardless of who lines up on the grid next season, the racing will be just as intense and exhilarating as this year, and we can’t wait to host the UK’s premier motorcycle racing championship at Knockhill over the weekend of 16/17 June 2023.

The Role

We currently have a position to fill within our team and are looking for multi-skilled media designers and marketers to get in touch. The role is a wide and varied one which will see the candidate work across the business to help provide marketing and design support to five key business areas.

Responsibilities will include creative development of email campaigns, coordinate and plan social media activities, create digital advertising campaigns and website development working alongside external web developers.

About You

The ideal candidate will be a confident self-starter with the ability to plan, administer and distribute marketing collateral on Knockhill’s key media platforms. Opportunities to express your creativity are limitless, with the chance to work on design, marketing, paid-for media, print, social, website and video projects – plus anything else you care to add to the party.

You’ll be a creative suite user and able to lead projects, staff and communicate ideas to stakeholders throughout the business to support marketing goals. Working to tight deadlines. Good communication skills and confidence in creating copy and managing social media channels would also be beneficial.

We offer a fun, dynamic and exciting environment where no day is the same. You’ll be given the autonomy to make a real statement on the business both creatively and to help drive the marketing strategy through campaign planning and ideation with the support of the Marketing Director and various department heads.

We operate a five-day working week at Knockhill, however due to the business type, weekend work and some unsociable hours during key event days will all be a factor in your employment. The role will be based at Knockhill Racing Circuit, just outside Dunfermline – there are no public transport links, so a driver’s licence and your own vehicle will be essential.

Experience/Salary

We are thrilled to have a little piece of motorsport history coming to FORD LIVE on Sunday 25^th September with not one, but two Ford GT40s. Not only will these cars be on display, but they will be doing demonstration drives during the lunch break. These 40-inch high (hence the name) sports cars that took on, and beat, the might of Ferrari in the mid 60s became so iconic that numerous books, documentaries and recent Matt Damon and Christian Bale blockbuster has been made about these legendary cars.
