So, with a test before BSB, BSB itself and two days on the James Whitham Trackday Training Days, Tyco BMW’s Christian Iddon is becoming somewhat of a local around these parts.
Indeed, the man who reckons he’s completed more than 270 laps of the Knockhill track (in less than a month and we don’t think that’s even including the pre-BSB test) should be more than accomplished at passing on some race info to those looking for one-to-one coaching on the Whitham trackdays.
This weekend, however, Iddon and his Tyco team head to Brands Hatch for the Big Brands Bash that see’s another two mammoth BSB 20 lap races take place around the full GP Circuit, and Iddon knows that the upcoming run of events – with one almost every two weeks until the showdown – are vitally important for those all-important podium credits and securing a place in top six before the cut-off point for those showdown places.
“It’s funny, I wouldn’t say Brands Hatch is one of my favourite tracks; but l always seem to go well there. The BMW works well around there and we’ve definitely made progress with the bike following Knockhill – so I’m really looking forward to it.”
He’s probably also looking forward to a night in his own bed following more than a month on the road – which will include several international flights to Suzuka Circuit in Japan, BSB racing at Brands Hatch and Thruxton, alongside several other Whitham Training Days at Mallory and Angelsey – returning home in early August.
Ah, the jet-set lifestyle of a BSB star!!
