The 14 race programme on SUNDAY 6th APRIL marks the start of the 2008 Scottish Championships. Organised by Kirkcaldy and District Motor Club it is shaping up to be a cracker, with packed entry lists the order of the day. Races will include all classes of racing machines from noisy ‘Classics’ all the way to the mighty 180mph ‘Superstock’ class, with the latest, most powerful models from Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda and Kawasaki.
Also on the agenda is the ever-entertaining 3-wheeled brigade of Sidecar racers, where it takes two to tango AND to get a result, as the 2-men teams wrestle and wring everything they can get out of their 160mph 3-wheeled chariots.

Some of the eager entrants include:
John MacDonald – Professional motorcycle instructor and former Scottish Motorcycle Racing Champion, John MacDonald from Auchtertool, Fife has been lured out of retirement to challenge for supremacy in the seriously fast and closely contested Supersport 600 class.
Erich Schonwalder – One hero, not satisfied with riding shotgun on such a machine, is Erich Schonwalder from Loanhead . Erich will go from 3 to 2 to 3 wheels on the 6th, when he passengers Haddington’s David Wrinn aboard their Reywood Yamaha R1 outfit in 2 races, and also races his own Kawasaki ER6 in the new for 2008 ‘Mini Twin’ class. Definitely, a real life action man!
John Dean – A young hot shot being tipped for stardom, 16 year old John Dean, who was crowned 2007 Champion of the Strathearn Tyres 125cc Championship has moved up to the 600cc Production class for 2008. Like the late, great ‘TT’ and British Superbike Champion, Steve Hislop and current sole Scot in the British Superbikes, Stuart Easton, the young flyer hails from Hawick.
Les Shand – The talented man from the Highlands will compete in a total of 6 races, on 3 different race machines on 6th April. An exhausting prospect for any fit racer, the genial, fast bike racer is well up for the challenge.
It is sure to be another spectacular motorsport event at knockhill – don’t miss out!
