Fifer Jonathan Adam bids to take another step closer towards retaining the Seat Cupra Championship he dominated last year when he tackles the penultimate rounds at Silverstone this weekend.
The 26-year-old from Kirkcaldy has won eight of the last 10 races, including the double-header at Knockhill a fortnight ago, and Adam is confident he can close five-point gap to championship leader Robert Lawson.
“We know what we have to do, and that’s essentially exactly the same as we’ve done at the last six meetings,” Adam, whose Total Control Racing team has worked tirelessly to provide the talented young Scot with a race-winning car, said today.
“My intention is to qualify on pole position again and drive away from the field. I know it may sound simple, but we have a lot of work to do if we’re to turn it into reality.
“We’re certainly not underestimating Robert or any of the other guys in the series. This has been the toughest championship since it was it was launched in 2003 and it would be terrific to win back-to-back titles.”
