Shedden frustrated by seventh

Fifer Gordon Shedden was left frustrated after qualifying seventh-fastest for tomorrow’s opening race in the British Touring Car Championship triple-header at Rockingham.

“I’m less than a second off pole position, yet I’m back in seventh, which isn’t ideal,” admitted the 30-year-old  from Dalgety Bay, who qualified his Team Honda Civic on pole position for the season’s opener at Thruxton three weeks ago.

While Shedden will be hoping his knack for hooking up quick starts will catapult him through the field, team-mate and former champ Matt Neal starts on the front row alongside the Ford Focus of polesitter Tom Chilton.

The Englishman’s lap of 1min 23.363secs was enough to clinch the first-ever pole position for an LPG-powered car in the championship.
