In an action packed day at Knockhill (Sunday 25th July) motor sport fans who attended the latest round of the Scottish Car Racing Championships were treated to thrills and spills galore.
Various incidents including a 5 car crash in the Scottish XR2 Championship provided ample viewing for hundreds of eager fans. Likewise the inclusion of the visiting Northern Saloon and Sportscar Championship added something different to the meeting with a whole host of marques on show.
Stirling based Andrew Morrison’s bright yellow SEAT Leon was joined on track by the black and green VW Beetle RSi of Ian Humpish and Mike Cutt’s BMW M3.
On the Scottish Championship scene, there were double race wins for Craig Brunton and Rory Bryant driving in the Scottish Formula Ford Championship and the Fiesta ST Cup respectively. Another notable addition to the FFDR Scottish Mini Cooper Cup grid was British GT Championship competitor Rory Butcher.
“It was nice to get back behind the wheel of the Mini. It’s been a few years since l’ve raced one, so l’m pretty pleased with my performances this weekend,” said Rory.
Scottish Championship car racing returns to Knockhill on Saturday 21st August with advanced tickets costing £10 for adults and £6 for kids. It’s another opportunity to sample a motor sport event at Knockhill, and we’d love to see you here!
