Premier class rider David Paton enjoyed a perfect days racing this afternoon at Knockhill Racing Circuit (Sunday 29th August).
Paton onboard his Motorrad Central BMW S1000RR won both Premier Class races in convincing style. Leading from start to finish in both races the Loanhead rider beamed, “When the bike feels that good you’ve just got to go with it.
“There’s a big gap between myself and the championship leaders but all I can do is bag maximum scores and hope some other riders come between me and top guys.”
There was also a welcome return to the podium for Inverness rider Donald MacFadyen who only just missed out on podium spot in the opening race of the day.
“It’s good to be back on the podium, it’s been far to long and to be honest l’m just glad l got rid of that Yamaha,” said MacFadyen.
We also witnessed a fantastic sporting gesture at Knockhill today when Bruce Birnie loaned Adrian Clark one of his bikes after Clark has crashed in the opening race. This is all the more remarkable considering both riders are gunning for the Premier/Open Class title.
Knockhill Events Director commented, “There is a real camaraderie between all the riders in the paddock, but to loan a rival competitor a bike is highly commendable and a fantastic gesture.”
Next up at Knockhill we have the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship on Sat 4th and Sun 5th September. Knockhill ‘s own Gordon Shedden will be looking to mount a serious championship charge in front of a bumper Scottish crowd.
Tickets can be purchased online or on the gate during the event.
