In build up to the 2010 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship round at Knockhill this weekend, Fife racer Gordon Shedden hosted a driving master-class today (Monday 30th August).
Selected media and other VIP guests enjoyed a drive around the Knockhill circuit with Gordon at the wheel, before switching to the hot seat and testing their skills under Flash’s watchful eye.
Carl Mckellar, PR and Communications Manager for the British Touring Car Championship also enjoyed an instruction lead session with Gordon. Carl also had the opportunity to drive the circuit with Gordon in the passenger seat offering his inside knowledge around Knockhill.
“That’s the first time in almost 11 years of coming to Knockhill that l’ve driven the circuit. Gordon just kept me right and gave me the confidence to push the car to its limits, it was fantastic fun,” said Carl.
BTCC title contender Gordon said, “I had to be quite careful out there not to give all my secrets away. Because we were recording each session l didn’t want to take the exact lines that l will on Sunday.”
It’s that knowledge that Gordon hopes to take advantage of this weekend when he attempts to consolidate his push for title honours.
“I’m in need of a good weekend, the car will suit Knockhill with its handling and cornering capabilities. I’m really up for it and hopefully we can put on a good show for the home fans.”
Tickets for the British Touring Cars are available online now – there will be qualifying and support races on Saturday, with main races including 3 BTCC races on Sunday with action from 9am.
