Knockhill Racing Circuit played host to Streetcar Scotland today (Sunday 26th September). There was plenty to see and do around the venue with the final round of the British Drifting Championships taking centre stage.
Other notable highlights included the inaugural running of the Kart Attack Challenge supported and sponsored by Total Car Magazines. We also witnessed the conclusion to the 2010 Knockhill Calendar Girls competition with several young ladies being chosen to appear in the soon to be published Knockhill 2011 calendar.
We also saw modified and customised cars arrive en-mass with over 100 show cars on display. Add into the mix 2 x 1 hour track sessions, star attractions like Shane Lynch and Matt Littler, Drift Taxi in paddock two and some extreme tyre smoking action, it’s safe to say the event was a resounding success.
Knockhill Managing Director Jillian Shedden said, “It’s be a superb show today, a healthy crowd and some fantastic drifting action on show.”
Garry Stagg, Knockhill commentator backed up Jillian’s sentiments.
“We received a huge amount of text messages from the crowd. Quite simply the best response we’ve had all year, l’m just delighted by the day as a whole,” commented Garry.
