Tomorrows inaugrual Knockhill Motor Sports Club event has topped over 70 entries with an impressive 22 entrants in the classics class alone. The four classes racing, Classics, Legends, Saloons & Sports and Open Saloons has provided an entry well beyond what the Club had anticipated. Club Chairman Stuart Gray said” We are thrilled that so many drivers have shown interest in our first meeting. At a rough count, we are at the 80% mark of what a normal meeting is, indeed the classics at 22 is 3 more than were listed in the programme for the August meeting. With the mix of XR2s, Minis and Fiesta STs in the Open Saloons, the racing is going to be even more interesting than normal. In addition, we have two Turbo Minis entred in the Saloon and Sportscar races, the first time ever that these cars have raced North of the Border.”
Action kicks off at 9.30am with free practice, qualifying at 10.30am and racing from around 11.40am. Nine races are scheduled with a finish timed expected around 4pm with a Trophy Prize giving. Advanced tickets are £5, or 36 at the gate.
