As the 2012 car racing season draws to a close Knockhill are offering a final opportunity to get your motorsport fix before the long winter break. The Knockhill Motor Sports Club will be holding their season-ending reverse direction car race meeting this Sunday (28th October).
This event will witness the official baptism of the Reverse Circuit under racing conditions. This will be a new experience for most of the competitors this weekend and should provide an exciting insight into the type of spectacle that the track will provide during the 2013 season.
A nine race programme scheduled to start around 12.30pm will offer ample entertainment for all those that attend. The racing action will feature Legends, Sports and Saloons, Classics and the amalgamated Mini/Fiesta/ST races.
Knockhill Events Director Stuart Gray commented:
“It seems like an age we’ve had to wait for this event.
“The Reverse Circuit should provide competitors with a completely different challenge. Feedback has been really good all season long and this weekend will be a culmination of months of work and a substantial investment by the Circuit.
“We had a sneak preview of racing at this year’s Scottish Motorshow, but this weekend will provide a true test for the Reverse Circuit.
“I’m eagerly anticipating some fireworks this Sunday.”
Gordon Shedden will be on hand during the day if you’d like to grab a quick photo or autograph from the NEW 2012 British Touring Car Champion. Unfortunately the BTCC crown he won at Brands Hatch Circuit at the weekend will not be on display. There are no formal arrangements for Gordon’s movements on the day, however he will be on site should you wish to meet him. He is a good lad and very approachable, so don’t be afraid to give him a shout.
