The Knockhill Stock Car Summer Series returns this Wednesday (26th June) from 6.30pm to 9pm. Topping the bill will be the BriSCA Formula 2 drivers; making their second visit to Knockhill this year, minus the front-running Gordon Moodie who suffered an injury at Taunton. Moodie was the man to beat at Knockhill last time out, however, Chris Burgoyne heads to the summer series meeting in buoyant mood after securing a heat and final win at Racewall last weekend.
Others to look out for in the F2 class include; Craig Wallace in the 647 car, whilst, Robbie Dawson, Garry Sime and Liam Rennie are all on a good run of form just now. The F2 racing at the Knockhill Tri-oval is always frantic and provides wide-eyed-entertainment for all. Last time out, the crowd swelled to an impressive 5 year high and with the weather forecast favourable for this week, we could see another bumper crowd turn out this Wednesday.
The 2.5 hour race programme will also see action from the Saloon Stocks, Ministox, Stock Rods and Lightening Rods. In Saloon Stocks, National points leader, Stuart Shevill Junior will be looking to get back on track following a number of engine and gearbox issues at Racewall on Saturday. Saturday evening’s winner, Stevie Honeyman, will be keen to secure his second final race win of the week. But he knows, Kyle Irving, Barry Russell and Stuart Drobinski will be eager to impress.
Elsewhere, the Lattka brothers (Stock Rod) will be fighting amongst themselves for the Stock Rod wins this week; whereas, Dougie Kidd and Lindsay Wilson look all set to continue their points-leading battle when the action gets underway on Wednesday night. The Ministox racers will be making their second appearance, competing in the Disco Trophy, at this round; with the likes of Camie McGowan, Zak Gilmour, Steven Burgoyne and Rory Naismith all competing for victories.
Action starts at 6.30pm, gates will open from 5pm onwards and admission prices are as follows:
Adult £10, Concession £5, Family £25 and Kids under 12 go free.
Pre-booking discounts are available on the Knockhill website, up to midnight tonight, with all tickets purchased online subject to box office collection.
