Ever wondered what it would be like to walk the Knockhill track? Well now’s your chance – at this year’s MCE British Superbike Championship in association with Pirelli we will be opening the access gates to the track immediately after the final race of the 2015 Knockhill round on Sunday 5th July.
This will be your chance to sample the iconic track first-hand. Touch-the-track type events are highly popular on the American racing scene and also at the British Grand Prix following the conclusion of the F1 race; and Knockhill will be doing the same for the first-time ever next weekend.
You’ll get a rider’s perspective, minus the speed, of some of Knockhill’s most famous twists and dips. You’ll get to see the drop into Duffus Dip for yourself and the blind entry and fast kink of arguably one of the most spectacular corner’s on UK soil – the Arnold Clark Chicane. Additionally, you sample the gruelling climbs of Clark’s Corner and the Knockhill Hairpin. And once you reach the hairpin, stay a while and listen to ‘Dirty Harry’ – The Blondie Tribute Band – belt our some of the 80s band’s most iconic tracks.
Access to the track will be granted from paddock brae – the access road that separates the two spectating zones at the hairpin, and immediately opposite the campsite heading onto the Hislop’s part of the track.
There’s no fee for either the track walk or Blondie concert – aside from the cost of your MCE British Superbike event ticket, we just hope that you’ll stick around to finish off a stunning weekend of motorcycle racing in true festival style.
Tickets can be booked online via the Knockhill website, with tickets purchased in advance subject to pre-booking discounts. Alternatively, tickets will also be available at the gate throughout the weekend.
