The 5th Ford Live event rolls into Knockhill this weekend

This weekend, the tight and compact venue of Knockhill will reverberate with the sound, sight and smell of a massive collection of Ford machinery the likes of which will only be seen at Knockhill once this year. Now in its 5th year, our annual Ford Live event – in association with the Central & East and North East RS Owners’ Clubs – continues to attract Ford machinery, from various decades, to Fife for a day of on and off track entertainment.

The Knockhill paddocks will be awash with some of the most-loved and iconic Ford models of modern times and yesteryear including – Sierras, Capris, Escorts, XR2s, Mondeos; and of course the more recent Fiesta/Focus ST and RS models. Topping the bill however will be a gaggle of Escorts from the RS Owners’ Club regional groups – Central & East, West and North East Scotland, Durham and North Yorkshire. Indeed, such is the lure of the Scottish event that we regularly see cars travelling in excess of 150 miles just to be part of the event. And this year is no different, with one owner making the round-trip from London with his Sierra RS500.

So far, fifteen of the UK’s top Ford enthusiast clubs have signed up to participate in a 300-strong Show ‘n’ Shine competition – our biggest yet. With RSOC concurs, RSOC regalia and trade sites – from valeting products to specialised Ford tuning companies – also featuring prominently on the off-track schedule of activities.

Obviously, there will be a few cars with a motorsport pedigree on show and demonstrated on track throughout the lunch break – given the event’s connection with the home of Scottish motorsport.

The car has a comprehensive racing pedigree after tackling iconic tracks around the globe including Estoril, Imola, Zolder, Monza, Nurburgring, Spa and Silverstone. It’s a top-class addition to an already jam-packed display area; which will also see the RS200, Gordon Shedden piloted at the same McRae Rae Challenge press day, line-up alongside a stunning array of cars.

We hope to have Andrew Gallagher here to demo the Blackwood Plant Hire supported Evo-engined Fiesta Rally car on track, whilst Bernie Rooney’s 850bhp Nissan powered MkII are just a sample of the performance cars that will be at the event. Following on from our BTCC event last weekend, we’ll also see some other iconic 80s BTCC racers on show, with Manuel Reuter’s Eggenberger Motortsport Touring Car well worth the admission fee on its own.

Aside from the off-track entertainment, there will also be a swathe of machinery on track; with the 150 trackday slots almost sold out – please phone 01383 723337 to avoid disappointment – featuring a 30-strong Ford only session for those that want to see some iconic Fords being put through their paces on track. Additionally, the other 120 drivers will be in such an array of cars – from varying manufacturers that even those non-Ford fans will have plenty to see. We regularly see models from Subaru, Mitsubishi, Renault, Vauxhall and BMW participate on our trackdays.

Tickets for the event can be booked online via the Knockhill website, all subject to advanced booking discounts. Alternatively, tickets will be available at the gate on the day subject to the following prices:

Adult £13, Concession £8, Family £34 (only £20 in advance) and all Kids under 12 go free.

Remember, if you attended our BTCC event last weekend and still have the ticket stub, present that at the gate this weekend and receive concession rate admission – only £8.

Hope to see you here for a thrillingly fast day celebrating all things Ford.
